  1. If you get drenched in rains, make it a point to dry yourself and change into dry clothes immediately; especially undergarments.
  2. Do not wear wet clothes. Often, because of humidity, clothes don’t dry up the next day. Ensure you have a back-up, but do not use the soggy clothes.
  3. Wear loose clothes. Keep away the denims and wear linen and cottons that are light and dry faster.
  4. It will be a good idea to store an extra pair of clothes (including undergarments) at your workplace, in case you reach the workplace drenched.
  5. Wear open footwear and make it a point to wash your feet with soap and water when you return from outdoors. After washing, make it a point to dry your feet, especially the webspaces.
  6. If you go for a manicure/pedicure, make sure that the tools are sterilized. While some salons do maintain hygienic conditions, wet spells make it hard to do so. Check that all the tools are disinfected; if required ask them to do so in front of you.
  7. If you are prone to fungal infection of skin during monsoons, make it a point to use antifungal powder in body folds and webspaces after bathing.
  8. Visit a dermatologist if you have an itchy rash, do not take OTC products from a chemist or some random cream from a friend. Itching in the private parts can be frustrating and showing a doctor would be embarrassing but using an incorrect or inadequate cream can unnecessarily increase the duration and severity of disease. Fungal infections are on the rise and resistance to antifungal drugs is a serious public health concern of today.
  9. If you are taking treatment for fungal infection of skin, keep your clothes, towels, soaps, shaving items and combs separate and wash them also separately.
  10. If you are being treated for fungal infection of the skin, be extremely compliant to medicines and creams, timing of taking tablets etc.
